Italian Melencolia Estatica do brilliantly show with their debut a very powerful and diversified opus that covers all facets of Black Metal. Fast, partly rather aggresive shoves act in a lasting interrelation with quiet and harmonic parts whereby Melencolia Estatica succeeded extremly well, realizing those changes playful fluent. The record consist in four tracks but listening the CD you've a feeling that it is one single long song. All songs are characterically rather similiar: fast, furious passages, powerful mid-tempi and clear melodic parts in manifold variation form Melencolia Estatica's basic though the very expressive vocals attach importance. Partly the vocals are very intensive and emotional so they are extremly destructive and mighty and contributes decisive to the atmosphere.
Above all those sluggish and mid-tempi arrangements as the detailed, perfectly enacted transition are Melencolia Estatica's strengths. Drumming and guitar playing are varied and ocassionally impressing. Elsewhere guitars are certainly trivial prevaillingly in those fast and rough passages. For a début of course this is getting over as the material is well and complex. So realization turned out well you've an emphatic, very mood-intensive and indipendent record that captivates me personally.
