The Raping Of The Divine previously was recorded in 1996 but published first and foresome for unknown reasons. Ereshkigal plays traditional Greek Black Metal in the style of the 90ies as their compatriots of Rotting Christ, Thou Art Lord, Varathron and Nergal once celebrated. Bringing in this record ten years ago this reminds not even stylistically those former notabilites but also tonal and atmospheric. Ereshkigal shifts the gentle listener with The Raping Of The Divine in the 90ies of Hellenic Black Metal art.
The Raping Of The Divine contents all known elements that are familiar for this special style of mentionend bands. Hard sometimes playful riffing also occur as very rough and aggressive playing or melodic and harmonic moments. Embracing Ereshkigal merely is a clone is a fatal mistake. Ereshkigal have their own, very independent playing dividing them clearly from other known bands.
The Raping Of The Divine is a varied opus that has technical as atmospheric different sides. On the one hand there are manifold fast and hard legs with suited catching riffings. So they also have some single dark and dragging passages reminding old Samael or Alastis. Last track The Final Victory Ereshkigal has a song up their sleeve dividing strongly in certain ways. This song exists of typical Greek Black Metal elements taking wonderful however Ereshkigal are rather daring and innovative though very melodic elements take effect reminding at Pop and Rock. A well friendly female voice is used as the guitars are very playful and some single melodic soli are performed at its best.
The Raping Of The Divine is a plentiful record recomminding to all esteeming highly former Greek Black Metal. It's published on vinyl in Gatefold and is limited to 1000 copies.
