This fine tape, released in pro-format is not only an optical but also a musical exquisiteness. Ad Desolatum et Silentium is a French-Venezuelan project, which was formed in 2004 and has now released their first sign of life, Itineris exitium.

The entitled Itineris exitium introduces the tape with a frenetic rhythm that drags you at the same time you can hear a dark, unclear and quiet voice, which results sinister, gloomy and mysterious. The guitars sound penetrating and distorted, while they play dismal harmonies with obscure and bizarre facets.

In the following Incertum silentes the guitar playing continues crystallizing while they remind a little of Blut aus Nord. On the one hand it is the sound of guitars what reminds of Blut aus Nord, but also the way some riffs are distorted, so they create a cold and extremely obscure atmosphere. But there are also many own aspects in the guitar playing. You can hear less strongly distorted harmonies, played in a quieter and clearer way, which are not less cold or touching, as it is shown by the instrumental Dolentia ingredi.
The last song is in the first half fast, hammering and grim, what it's due to the gloomy, tenebrous and growling voice. But also the guitar playing contributes once again to the fact that Ad Desolatum et Silentium spreads pure coldness.

Itineris exitium is for me an outstanding release with an only shame, the barely 14 minutes length. The music offered here in four titles is too good and touching to end after less than a quarter of an hour. Itineris exitium is a cold and extremely raw Black Metal, whose harmonic spectrum contains pleasant and bizarre expressions. Not less obscure is the voice that completes this dark, mysterious and somehow mystic atmosphere.
